It was not a calm night. It was windy and of cause still daylight bright during the night. When I woke up at 3am to pee it was as light as at noon!
Just super difficult to fall back to sleep!
The day starts as the last one ended! Rocky gravel scenery and muddy pathways! In the fist few kilometers some “high views” are possible to gasp.
Somehow I feel like I saw enough mud …
I enjoy a second breakfast at Raisahut,
which lays directly next to a lake (Durenjarga).
A swiss women peaks out of her tent when I aproach and we have short chat. She did a few days on the Nordkalottleden in opposite direction and is now planning to go back with the fishermen to Kautokaino.
From Raisahut I am not clever enough to follow the marker and end up hiking under the power line fir about half a kilometer until I rejoin the trail.
From there on it is again … muddy!!! 🙁
Then after soaking the shoes again the trail starts to change and leads over solid ground without much scenery change, but the further I hike the wider the views get and I allready see some snowy norwegian peaks far away.
Then there is a reindeir standing on the trail until it sees me and takes off. I can get a shaky shot of it while it observes me through the forrest.
The trail then becomes more and more pleasant through shady forrest to the Imofossen water falls.
If there would not be so many mosquitos I would enjoy this incredible view even more. The swiss women saw here a guy carrying his kajak arround to skip the waterfall, which is understandable!

From there the descend is more chalanging and tricky; reminding me a bit of the Te Araroa in NZ.
The path along the river is beautifull and passes a few other huts and nice picknick spots!
I am heading to Nedrefosshytta in hope someone else would be there allready. Most norwegian huts are closed and you need a DNT key from there hiking association to open it. I do not have such a key 😉
And when i cross the shaky bridge over to the river to this hit I allready see there are hiking poles standing in front of it.
Jackpot 😉 A Australian who want’s to hike the length of Norway in about 2 years. He does not really know and his pack is unbelievable big and heavy.
The hut it self is amazing and really well furnished. Different rooms nice beds with new matresses and even a gas stove.
In a dark room with the curtains closed sleeping is a lot easier!
