We were really close to be discovered tonight. Twice a car drove by close to our tent, slowed down and then continued. We freaked a bit and had not the best night ever; but today will be our last day on trail and that motivates us to new strength. Even without a proper sleep.
We hike all the way to Punta Sabbioni. It’s not a nice hike. It’s pretty much just road and crappy paths. You walk along all the tourists and about a million camping grounds.
But we made it! All the way to venice!
Now it’s just an hour ride with the boat away. Venice. We take the ferry at 21:00 and see the Marcus place in the night.
After some photos and hugs we take the boat back to Punta Sabbioni and walk down to the beach. Another half an hour of hiking. Everything hurts. It’s midnight. We are exhausted. It was a long day. We fall asleep on the beach and are happy to have done this remarkable trail. 555km to Venice. Amazing weather. Incredible views. Several mountain peaks. And just an awesome time.
